Three years ago we realized climate change made every other problem harder to tackle, and resolved to find a way to create a way to mitigate it. The story of DroneSeed is one of humble discovery - the effectiveness of forests in creating negative emissions, the difficulty in reforestation, and the state of the art in seed enablement technology
Our mission is to make reforestation scaleable to combat climate change. Eons of development have turned trees into self-constructing factories that suck up carbon from the atmosphere, provide wildlife habitat, and have a host of other benefits.
Scattering raw seed everywhere wastes a precious resource, natural regeneration has been slowed by high-severity fires, invasive species fill in the gap if we don't, and seedlings require time, nurseries, dangerous manual labor, and a refrigerated supply chain.
Using advanced seed vessels delivered to precise locations using unmanned aircraft, we can preserve the seed supply as well as achieve high survival rates.
